in my own words

A short, honest note every day — win or lose. No hype, no spin. Just what happened.

2026-07-03Day 8 — pressing pause: the ETH short lost, I cashed everything out; +$1,520 net profit banked

Day eight is the entry I always promised I'd write honestly if it came, so here it is: the ETH short was wrong. The bounce kept going, and rather than let a 25x position decide my fate, I cut it — the whole short closed for about −$1,342 on ETH, and booked dropped from +$2,879 at yesterday's log to +$1,522 lifetime, after every fee. My first real loss of the run. It stings, it's on-chain, and you can read every fill of it in the ledger.

Then I took everything off the table. I withdrew $2,163.99 today, and the account reads $0.00 right now — empty, flat, nothing at risk. The full picture across eight days: $2,049.60 ever went in, $3,570.06 came back out. Every cent I deposited is home, plus $1,520 of profit — banked, realized, in my pocket. That's +74% on my money in eight days, and none of it is paper.

And now I'm pressing pause. Not quitting — pausing. Trading this hard, this public, at this leverage takes more out of you than the chart shows, and I won't trade this account without full conviction. When I'm confident again, the money goes back in — same wallet, same rules, every deposit on-chain for anyone to see, exactly like the withdrawals were. The site, the wallet and the complete history stay up and verifiable the whole time. Nothing gets edited, nothing gets deleted.

So the scoreboard while I breathe: in $2,049.60, out $3,570.06, net +$1,520 booked. A win overall, a loss taken in the open, and a pause called with a clear head instead of a blown account. That's the whole point of doing this in public. See you when I'm back.

2026-07-02Day 7 — first withdrawal: took $1,406 of my stake off the table; booked +$2,879, short ETH 25x

Day seven brings a first for this challenge: money moved OUT. I withdrew $1,406.07 back to my own wallet — taken from the $2,049.60 I originally put in, not from the profit. My stake is mostly back in my pocket; the winnings stay on the table. Like every other move it's on-chain — you'll see it as the first OUT row on the proof page.

Two honest costs come with it. The account now holds about $3,270, and the climb to $200,000 restarts from the real balance — the progress bar fell from 1.56% to 0.64%. That's the price of taking money off the table, shown, not hidden. Separately, today's trading was a giveback: churning ETH around the flip cost me about $163 after fees, easing booked from +$3,042 to +$2,879. Still +$2,879 locked in on the $2,049.60 I started with — the only number I count.

And I'm not sitting in cash anymore: I flipped short — 19.69 ETH at 25x from $1,704, my counter-trade against this bounce. As I write it's about −$252 underwater, unrealized paper that moves every second. Liquidation sits near $1,846, roughly 7.5% above the price. If ETH squeezes hard, this position dies in public — that's the risk I'm choosing, in the open.

Account closed Day 7 around $3,270. The full picture since Day 1: $2,049.60 went in, $1,406.07 came back out, and $3,270 sits on the table — withdrawals, red clips and an underwater short, all on the record, all verifiable. Booked beats paper, and the stake sleeps at home tonight.

2026-07-01Milestone — first $5,000 on Hyperliquid: $2,049.60 became $5,091 in six days, all on-chain

Six days ago I put $2,049.60 into a Hyperliquid wallet and said I'd turn $2,000 into $200,000 in public. Today the account crossed $5,000 for the first time — around $5,091 as I write this, with +$3,042 of it booked profit after fees. Not paper: realized, locked, and sitting in cash, because I closed everything out today.

The math so far: nearly 2.5x the stake in six days — and 1.56% of the way to $200,000. I put both numbers in the same sentence on purpose. The start was fast; the mountain is still a mountain. There will be days the number goes the other way, and they'll be logged here exactly like this one.

Every fill, fee and funding payment that built this is on the public chain — the wallet's on the site, check any of it yourself. That's the whole point: not that it went up, but that you don't have to take my word for it. Next stop: $10K.

2026-07-01Day 6 — closed the whole ETH long; booked more than doubled to +$3,042, account past $5,000

Day six is the one where the paper became real. I spent it DCA-ing out of the ETH long I'd been building since Day 2 — ten separate closes on the way up, $43.46 in fees on the day — until the whole 31.64 ETH position was gone. Total booked since the $2,000 start now sits at +$3,042 after fees, more than double the +$1,520 at yesterday's log. It's the only number I count, and today it did the counting.

Then I shut it all down. I'm flat — ended the day back in cash, nothing leveraged running overnight. Same play as Day 4: sell in pieces on the way up, lock the real gain, don't hand it back. The long I flipped into on Day 2 at 25x is closed and paid in full.

Account closed Day 6 around $5,091 against $2,049.60 deposited — first time past $5,000, nearly 2.5x the stake in six days. And for once none of it is paper: no position, no liquidation price, nothing to sweat overnight. Flat, locked, on-chain. Tomorrow starts clean.

2026-06-30Day 5 — account hit a new high near $4,000; booked +$1,520, holding a green ETH long

Day five was a green one. The account pushed to a new high — running around $4,000 as I write this, against the $2,049.60 I put in. That's nearly double in five days. Booked, my realized and locked-in number, sits at +$1,520 after fees, and it's still the only number I truly count.

Full honesty on the small stuff: I chopped the ETH a little intraday, and the realized side cost me about −$91 after fees — that nudged booked down from +$1,630. It's noise. The account went up today because the position I'm holding gained more than that churn cost.

The ETH long — 31.64 ETH at 25x, built around $1,573 — is in the green, a few hundred dollars in the plus right now. But it's open, unrealized, live paper: it moves every second and I don't count a cent of it until I close. Liquidation sits near $1,490, about 6% under the price — real risk on the table, my counter-trade, giving it room.

So: booked +$1,520 locked, account at a new high near $4,000 and still moving with the open position. Nearly doubled the $2K in five days. Everything above booked is paper until I close it.

2026-06-29Day 4 — scaled out of the ETH long for +$1,286; total booked now +$1,630

Day four was the biggest day yet — and I got there by playing it safe, not swinging for the fences. I spent it scaling out of the ETH long I'd built, selling in pieces on the way up instead of trying to call the exact top. Across 17 closes it came to about +$1,286 after fees on the day, almost all of it ETH with a few bucks from a HYPE scalp. That puts total booked since the $2,000 start at +$1,630 after fees — the only number I count as real.

Then I closed everything out. I'm flat, back in cash, nothing leveraged running overnight. Could the day have been bigger with more size? Probably. But I'd rather DCA out, lock a real gain, and still be standing than get greedy and hand it back. Booked beats paper every time.

Account closed Day 4 around $3,680 against $2,049.60 deposited — roughly +80% on the stake in four days. Slow and alive wins this one.

// Questions

the honest answers
Is this real money?
Yes, 100%. Real funds on a real Hyperliquid wallet. Every position and trade is on the public blockchain, and the wallet address is right here on the site, so anyone can independently verify every number.
What is Hyperliquid?
Hyperliquid is an on-chain derivatives exchange. Trades settle transparently on its own chain, which is exactly what makes this challenge fully auditable by anyone, anytime.
How is the profit and loss calculated?
Net P&L is the current account value minus everything ever deposited, so it counts every top-up — and any withdrawal shows up on-chain on the proof page. That figure matches Hyperliquid's own portfolio number to the cent — no cherry-picked screenshots.
Are you selling anything?
No. No paid group, no signals, no course, no token. The challenge is free to watch — the whole point is to prove it can be done in the open.
