Hyperliquid

An on-chain derivatives exchange. Trades settle on its own public blockchain, which is exactly what makes this challenge verifiable by anyone.

On-chain

Recorded on a public blockchain anyone can read. No screenshots, no "trust me" — the record cannot be edited or faked.

Long / Short

Long means betting the price goes up. Short means betting it goes down.

Leverage

Trading bigger than your cash by borrowing. 10x means $100 controls a $1,000 position — bigger gains, bigger losses, and a real risk of liquidation.

Liquidation

When a leveraged trade moves too far against you, the exchange force-closes it and the margin is lost. If it happens on this account, you will see it.

Realized vs unrealized P&L

Realized (booked) is profit or loss locked in on closed trades, after fees. Unrealized is paper profit or loss on a trade that is still open and still moving.

Margin (isolated vs cross)

Margin is the collateral backing a trade. Isolated risks only what is assigned to that one trade; cross uses the whole account balance as backing.

Funding

A small recurring payment between longs and shorts for holding a position. It is already included in the net P&L.

Net P&L

Current account value minus everything deposited — the true profit or loss, after all fees and funding.

Drawdown

The drop from a peak down to a low point — a measure of the worst dip along the way.
